YOUR BRAVE VOICE, St Pauls Bay, Malta

YOUR BRAVE VOICE, St Pauls Bay, Malta

A weekend of empowering your Brave Voice. We all have a huge amount of courage to live in these challenging times and to keep choosing what we wish to speak up for, how we wish to express ourselves in the world. This weekend is about supporting and developing your presence and to express through your Voice, with more power and presence. We begin with an open evening, a space to explore your voice in a playful and non judgemental environment, followed by the weekend itself as a space to develop your Voice. More details below:

A space to develop your voice, and the ability to flow, to be able to speak more freely, to express, especially in areas that you are finding hard in your day to day life. Using our connection with Nature to support and empower the qualities of your voice.

How to call on the elements to support expression and regulation when communicating.

Working with techniques to develop the strength, presence, power and flow in your voice when speaking. Support in developing your singing voice.

Exploring developing more confidence in specific situations where you would like to have more freedom and strength in your sound. We will work with a variety of techniques, including movement, dance, sound and word, using the practices of somatic and trauma informed voicework developed by Yasia over the past 20 years, combined with supportive touch where acceptable for you, and deepening your connection to the Elements and how their qualities can support and empower your voice.

We will explore voice and movement and the practices of Movement Medicine, an embodiment practice based in movement and Nature based connection.

As Yasia explains, the more ground and fluidity in your body, the more power, freedom and resonance in your voice.

Expect to learn some specific tools to develop the resonance in your voice, to play with volume, flow, expression. To expand your ability to embody more of your sound and power.

Trauma Informed Voicework: has been developed by Yasia over the past 20 years. Is a way of opening and unlocking the power of your voice with the understanding that for any of us to reclaim our voices, we are making an epically brave leap, considering our combined histories in terms of voice. This approach is a non-judgmental approach to the voice and not about ‘singing in tune’ or making a ‘nice sound’ although nice sounds do occur! Its more about receiving and welcoming your true authentic voice, in an environment of unequivocal encouragement, respect and support, loosening the shame we have around our voices, bringing compassion to the fear and judgement that can often hold us back in fuller expression of Self on all levels.  https://yasia.org/voicework Yasia will be offering her first training in this work in 2026.

Movement Medicine® is a Movement practice, and  a synthesis of shamanic, therapeutic and devotional pathways. Movement Medicine® provides a contemporary map to support, deepen and enrich your dance both on the dance floor and through life. https://www.schoolofmovementmedicine.com/

We will be working with Voicework exercises and Movement Medicine®. We will explore and celebrate the Power of Sound, Song and Dance.

Some movement and voice will be accompanied by digital music, other parts of the course will be raw sound and movement, acoustic style, we will be the music makers! All of the above will be done within the context of simple movement medicine and somatic voicework techniques developed by Yasia, during 20 years of Voice Work practice that will be introduced over the weekend.
